Leadership Recognition

“Leadership in the OCDSB is the demonstration of personal initiative to achieve a positive outcome.”

Students

Our students develop and demonstrate leadership skills in a variety of ways. They are actively involved in supporting each other and working together collaboratively.  Our students engage in a wide variety of sporting activities to develop leadership and sportsmanship skills.

Staff

Our staff brings a broad perspective and a wealth of professional and personal experiences to school to support our students. With a wide range of professional development experiences including additional professional qualifications, graduate degrees, and on-going professional development our staff work collaboratively to deliver high quality educational programs that motivate and challenge our students. Our professional book club focuses on meeting the needs of all our students in enhancing higher level thinking skills. We recognize the extraordinary efforts of our staff in a variety of ways through personal interactions/letters, assemblies, announcements, and formal recognition at staff meetings and at School Council meetings.

Parents/Guardians/Volunteers

The school council contribute to our school by purchasing yard toys and sports equipment. Many volunteers also donated their time and support through volunteering for field trips and in classes. Our volunteers truly help W.E. Gowling to succeed in supporting our students.

Community

W.E. Gowling, in partnership with The Ottawa Network for Education, choose to volunteer their time at W.E. Gowling in order to support school initiatives, student learning and to make a difference in the lives of our students.
